Mrs. Beanan

Welcome to the Life Science/Biology Department.I am honored to be on staff at Calvary Christian School and am having a wonderful year with the students. We have an exciting curriculum and use the text, Biology for Christian Schools. This text will help us gain an understanding of God’s creation and biological principles as well as, to recognize how they affect us and our world.  We will have the opportunity to learn through hands on activities as well as written exercises as we begin our study with simple organisms and progress to the more complex. We will study topics in macro and micro biology.  These consist of the tiny construction blocks of life and the assembled structures that God creates with them.  Even though my favorite part of biology is the “macro” part (i.e. plants and animals) the micro part is also fascinating with the incredible detail with which God has designed and set up life and the universe.

I have spent the last fifteen years working with young children in pre-school and kindergarten.  Five of these years have been at Calvary Christian. I loved my work but God has pointed me in a new direction and I am excited about my new job and the opportunities involved.  Biology and the natural world have always been interesting to me.  I attained my B.A. degree in Biology while attending U.C.S.D.  Subsequently I received a Masters in Ecology at San Diego State.  My home and family life consist of three grown children, one dog, one large iguana, one tortoise, one goose, ten cats and a myriad of fish.  For fun I like gardening, photography, camping, traveling, and reading. I find teaching very rewarding work and I thank God for the opportunity to serve at this school. My hope for the students is simply this: That each day they see, with new eyes, God’s handiwork in the creation around them.
Blessings,

Mrs. Victoria Beanan
